How to add Tags to Domains or Services

Environment

In Server version 3.5 and later, the ability to configure Tags for Domains (monolithic applications) and Services (distributed applications) was added to improve the management and tracking of an Application’s architecture.

Steps to add Tags

Take the following steps to add a Tag to a Domain or Service:

  1. Log into the vFunction Server UI
  2. Click Analysis on the top-center menu bar
  3. Hover over a Domain in the center pane’s Domain Graph
  4. When it appears, click on the small circle 123 in the top, right corner of the Domain’s sphere
  5. Click the Plus Symbol next to Add Tags in the dialog box
  6. Type the desired tag name into the text box. Use the Space or Enter Key to end the tag
  7. Click the blue Add Tags button

Viewing Tags in a Domain or Service

Take the following steps to view the Tags used in Domains or Services:

  1. Log into the vFunction Server UI
  2. Click Analysis on the top-center menu bar
  3. Click the Eye Icon next to Domain Tags in the left-hand sidebar under the View header
  4. Click the Plus or Minus Symbols to increase or decrease the font size
  5. The Tags will be displayed below each Domain or Service in the Domain Graph in the center pane
