Prerequisites

  • A vFunction server with a completed analysis of your application. A baseline measurement should exist for the application you want to test
  • Access to the vFunction environment where the analysis lives
  • An IDE with the vFunction extension installed (for example, VS Code)
  • The vFunction MCP tools installed and enabled in your AI coding assistant (Claude, Kiro, or similar)
  • The application’s repository open in your IDE. In the most common setup, the analysis covers a single application that lives in a single repository, so the repository you open is the one the analysis describes
  • The runtime and SDK your project requires (for example, a specific JDK or .NET version) installed locally so the generated tests can run
